What is your contextual admissions policy?

We recognise that student’s individual educational experience and context can have an impact on the grades they achieve and their opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities.

By using contextual data, we can take this information into account to form a complete view of the student’s attainment and potential when we assess their application.

The admissions selector may make one of the following decisions;

  1. To make the applicant the standard offer where their predicted grades may have fallen marginally short of the threshold we usually use to make an offer
  2. To make the applicant either a standard or enhanced contextual offer
  3. To take this information into account and to confirm the offer holder’s place if their results have fallen marginally short of the conditions of their offer
